I always notice car doors closing by themselves when a driver gets out in a hurry. And I always cringe at the thought of the door closing quicker and crushing the passenger's fingers as they reach out quickly to tell him something. Or I always imagine a driver standing inside their car door taking directions about where to go and then suddenly getting smashed by an oncoming car. When I'm driving down the highway I imagine soaring through my windshield and laying on the cement. For some reason in these dreams the cars don't hurt me, they just massage my tired limbs. Everytime I imagine closing my eyes and just letting my car hit all the other cars I always hold my hands up like I'm on a roller coaster. I had speeding dreams last night. Where I was speeding my car through alleys and side streets. I wasn't in a hurry I just couldn't slow down. They, THEY say that means my life is moving too fast. I can see that. I have too much on my plate right now. Busy busy busy as the bokonists say. We are a generation never held responsible taking responsibility. I keep having this image of me waking up and stepping out of my body and jokingly shooting my laying self with my fingers.

not so sure what this is about but... about a week ago I was crossing the street to go to the coffee shop and some guy with dreds called me an asshole... kind of like whispered it to me as we were crossing. It took me by surprise because I generally assume people with dreds are hippies (I know... Stereotypes!) but you know I thought they were peaceful or whatever. I don't know why he called me an asshole, but I blew it off, because, well I dont count people with dredlocks as real people. Then today I was driving and the road was pretty empty and I came up to a red light and pulled up next to a guy who right as a stopped yelled "you suck" at the top of his lungs. Generally I would assume it would have been because I was "on his ass" or "didnt let him in" but none of those things applied to this situation for he had been stopped for quite a while before I came along. I'm blaming it on the fact that I was blaring Billy Joel. Maybe the Universe has caught on to my "god's gift to mankind" attitude and is trying to give me a reality check... until I get a clearer signal, I will continue to be a little prick.

so when I woke up this morning, I was still in the same foul mood as yesterday and it didn't help that I was awoken by Austin and he had no idea I was in a foul mood the day before and he had to roll with a serious of roller coasters. By the time I hung up I felt better as is usually the case and decided I would finally give my mother the disc of pictures she's been waiting for.

I scanned a bunch of photos in to the computer for her and she acted like it was a real big deal. "how much should I pay you, whitney" "um nothing, mom, it wasn't even hard" "normally people get paid for their work, whitney" "fine. ten dollars" "I think the going rate is fifty, whitney". I'm not complaining that I got fifty dollars for doing nothing... just giving you a peek in to this back and forth relationship with my mother. Kelly says I should be more thankful, and kelly's right. So I left my mother's house with a slight frown, I don't know why I lost my tiny amount of zest Austin had tried to breathe in to me. Maybe it was from the look this kid gave me as I was backing out, he looked at me like I was wasting his time, which is how I like to look at people, but not the other way around.

Oh yeah I forgot I had to go to planned parenthood before that to get some birth control- yaknowwhatImsayin'? Since I graduated, my health insurance is no longer... imagine my surprise when the woman at walgreens told me I owed her $220 for three months of a prescription. When I walked in to planned parenthood the lady acted like I was a menace to society, or maybe she was on her menzies, fuck if I know, what I know is, Im bright and sunny as fuck at work and I expect the same.

Well I left my mom's house in that foul mood and stopped for coffee at the nearest place, the bou. It sucks, but at least I know what I like to drink from having worked there for four years. When I walked in I ordered my drink and the elderly woman behind the counter (yep) greeted me and I ordered. As I was pulling out my money she said "We're getting new bakery soon, it's going to be quite good" and I replied "But it's frozen, right?" (foul mood, no excuse, but Im mean-okay whatever) and she replied "it doesn't exist yet" SHES RIGHT, OKAY GOOD ONE GRANNY. I laughed at this and maybe winked and jabbed her with my elbow in my head. I strolled to the other side where the other person heard my comment and remarked "I love that red dress, it makes you look so cheery" I couldn't help but take this as an insult, because she had to be sarcastic after over hearing my dark cloud comment. So I smiled a quick smile and looked at the rack of things for sale and remembered once again the time I wrote the mean email to the ceo. I had the best insult in that email that I still remember to this day. I walked out in quite a good mood, laughing about my mean insult and wondering what ever happened with that email, oh vanity! it always makes you feel a bit better, I suppose.

I was coming home from work today and I felt my car chug a little, I looked at my gas tank and realized I had completely forgotten I was all out of gas. Thankfully, I was right next to a gas station and didn't have to worry about walking with my little red emergency filler upper. I pulled in to a spot got out and went to swipe my card. As I was typing in my zip code I could feel a pair of eyes on me coming from the left. I did what I normally do when I feel eyes on me, and made zero eye contact and went to pump the gas. As I was pumping gas the eyes took a few steps closer and took off his sunglasses and exclaimed "What a beautiful dress" "thank you" I responded thinking briefly that he may be a fashion designer who wants to talk style and that would be a nice refreshing direction for this to go... but then he asked me my name. I never like this because A. What the fuck are you going to do with my name and B. No one ever understands my name on the first say. But I tell him anyway, "Whitney" ... "What?" "...whitney" And then he responds "Are you married?" this caught me off guard and I let out a small chuckle as I replied "No" He took a few steps closer "You're beautiful" I nod agreeing with him and he seems put off by this... "What? You don't expect anyone to stare at you?" "well... I'm just pumping gas" "Well nice to meet you" "yep" he got back in to his car and then he slowly drove by me and out the window he asked "What's your name again?" "...whitney" "ok bye whitney"

Seriously, I want to know what he plans on doing with my name. Find my space?

The night opened with a really beautiful encounter between me and a black man who was driving a really nice car and blasting my favorite station kool108.
I was sweeping up the cigarette butts on the sidewalk and he was cruising by, only he didn't cruise by really fast he slowed way down and hung out his window, and gave me a look like "hey my darling what are you up to?" and I gave him a look like "Don't I look hot sweeping up cigarette butts?" if you dont know what this look is like you are truly missing out.

As I cleaned the bathrooms I noticed a small little bit of graffiti by the door knob. "Impeach" Now normally I'm pro graffiti, I like it, it generally adds a nice amount of pizazz. But "Impeach" really frustrated me. I mean I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you're talking about a president. excuse me the president. But I mean you're at a coffee shop, a coffee shop run by 20 something women. Yeah we all think presidents should get impeached. We're hipsters. And your graffiti is unoriginal. If I see graffiti I want it to tell me something, something I never knew before. "Johnny has a small cock, don't suck it" That's at least useful to me. Then if I ever meet a Johnny I can sort matters out right from the get-go.

Later on in the evening this woman came in who was even more white trash than I am, if you can believe that... She actually scratched her vagina at the cash register...
Anyway she came to the counter and word for mother fucking word this is what she said.
"See we were all sitting here and we were like man it's really freezing so I was like should we go outside? but it was freezing outside so I asked this other lady are you freezing? and she was like yeah Im super freezing so I asked her do you think it would be rude to ask them to turn the air conditioner down?" okay so then she looks at us. And my co worker says "Oh yeah of course" and she turned the air conditioner down.
